As a venerable favorite among off-grid users, Wagan Tech’s ProLine series of power inverters have received a considerable makeover. Starting from the ground up, the new 3,000 watt inverter with 6,000 watt peak surge received a new SMT circuit board, a glossy exterior coating on the smaller casing, and a massive weight reduction. The new SMT circuit boards offer greater reliability, better efficiency, and fewer stray RF emissions over the older PCB and through-hole boards. From there the case volume shrunk 28 percent of the original, and the overall weight was reduced 36 percent. This makes for one efficient, reliable, beautiful and lightweight 3,000 W inverter in a more compact size. Under the shiny new exterior, you’ll find the aforementioned SMT circuit boards and a powerful cooling fan. On the front of the ProLine 3,000 watt inverter you’ll find the manually operated power switch (on/off) as well as the jack for the remote power switch (included). 3 conveniently stacked 120V AC outlets capable of providing 1500 watts each are well spaced on the right side of the inverter. Just left of the AC outlets, you will find the LED over load and temperature warning lights and the voltage and amperage level indicators. With the stout AC terminal block just below the Voltage/Amperage level indicators, you can be certain that your investment is well protected. On the backside of the ProLine 3000 W inverter is the massive cooling fan. Both of the terminals are now heavy duty solid mounts and come directly out of the case to make connections easier and to avoid the inevitable 90 degree bend that the cables make on traditional inverters, causing undue stress and making connections harder.
